Overall, the project was very rushed. I tried to pick up lesser shifts at work, but it became really hard to balance everything especially since January was when all of the assignments flew in at the same time. However, I felt like I still did better than I did prior the SAP pitch.
The above is the landing page that users will first see upon accessing the website. I used javascript for the navigation bar, such that at first, it's completely transparent, but upon scrolling it gains a grey background. I also used javascript so that upon pressing the down arrow, users will be brought down to the lower part of the page.
I added subtle designs to the login and register buttons as well. I made sure they had a solid coloured background to make it obvious to the users. I added a hover effect on the buttons as well such that they became a darker colour upon hover.
That's just an example of an improvement compared to the initial website I created.
As for demo day, it was kind of a disaster.
There were many incomplete features on the backend, and our product's usefulness was questioned. However, I was proud of the fact that despite my busy schedule, I was at least able to still deliver my share of the work, and managed to improve from the initial product. However, during the actual showcase, we got some pretty good feedback from the people that visited us, so I guess that was nice.
The entire experience was definitely a stressful one, but it was definitely enlightening and a great experiencing being able to work in a project, following a methodology that is practised widely in the IT industry. It also gave me a great opportunity to learn conflict resolution skills.
