We had a discussion with our teacher, he said that our idea is still lacking in terms of utilizing the SAP IoT.
Therefore, we had a long discussion about what is IoT. I did a little research on the spot as well.
I found an interesting article on Medium
The definition of IoT
IoT is the concept of inter-networking of physical devices, connected devices, smart devices and other devices embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity that enable these objects to collect and exchange data.
Basically, an object that can be sensed or controlled remotely across the existing network infrastructure that enables direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems, which, in turn, improves their efficiency and accuracy and reduces human intervention.
The article talked about Hardware, Embedded programming, Security, Data analytics and prediction, and Machine Learning and AI.
When we discussed about the hardware, what caught our attention the most was that we can utilize sensor as part of our IoT feature. We had a long discussion about sensor
In the end, we decided to do a kiosk with sensors. The sensor will detect data such as heart rate, or body temperature etc. However, we checked with our teacher, he said that the school does not have something like this and that we will have look online for the parts.
After looking online, we couldn't find a part that we can buy for an affordable price as they are far too expensive, therefore we had to come up with an alternative solution.
For now, we decided to continue on with the kiosk part, I volunteered to do the kiosk part, however we had to borrow a raspberry pi which we will get a few days later.
